Lion Randall H. Champion • 1st Vice District Governor for the Lions Year 2011-2012

Lion Randy joined the Black Mountain Lions Club in 2000 at the invitation of Lions Arthur Joe and Mary Hemphill. Randy has served as President, 1st Vice-President and is currently on the Board of Directors for Black Mountain. He has served as Zone Chairman for Zone Six for 2 terms and is currently the chairman for Zone Seven. He has received the President’s Excellence Award and is a recipient o f the Jack Stickley Fellow.

Lion Randy grew up in Black Mountain, attended Charles D. Owen High School where he met and later married Betty Ann Douthit. He earned his BS in Education from Western Carolina, majoring in mathematics, health and physical education and taught and coached at Lee Edwards/Asheville High School from 1965-1983. He entered the insurance industry in 1979 and currently owns Champion Financial Services in Asheville, N C. Randy is a member of the Black Mountain First Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and member of several committees. He and Lion Betty have two children, Chris and Leslie.
